Money

You may have been brought up to the strains of ‘All You Need is Love’.

But, come retirement, you know that money is also going to be important.

You may be sitting on a mega pension pot. Or reduced to seeking the small change stuck in the crevices of your sofa. Most likely, it is something in between.

Whatever the case, there are important issues to face –

  • Personal finance: Should your spending priorities change? How do you protect – or even grow – what you have? Can you strike a balance between miser mode and splashing out regardless?
  • Giving to charity and others: Is it time to pull back on supporting your favourite causes? Or are there new ways and opportunities to be generous?
  • Wills: Is it a good time to review who gets what, including supporting charities in ways that will leave others thankful for your life?

The word retirement is not even in the Bible. What is taught in scripture is transition. There is nothing that says you work most of your life and then get to be selfish for the next 20 years
